80 Graded Studies brings together in two books a broad selection of 19th-century study repertory, with studies by Baermann, Berr, Demnitz, Klose, Lazarus, Lefevre, Muller, Rose, Stark, Vanderhagen and Weidemann - all virtuosi of their day. Also included are a number of specially composed studies by Paul Harris.

The studies are arranged in order of increasing difficulty, according to a carefully planned technical progression. Together they cover the entire spectrum of basic technique and provide a firm foundation for progress.
