This manual seeks to assist bassoon players with fingering and agility, by including a fingering chart indicating the more usual key-work found on the Heckel-system bassoon.  The aim is to help students learn their scales and arpeggios thoroughly, as well as to provide support material for those woodwind teachers who may not be bassoon specialists.

Many helpful suggestions are included by John Orford, principal bassoonist with the London Sinfonietta and Head of the bassoon department at the Royal Academy of Music.
