This collection of solos is designed to bring to the world of the tuba player a new awareness of better known technical and artistic possibilities of his instrument.
However, the problem of finding original tuba solos is tremendous. The great classic concerto composers were not living when the tuba was invented. This album hopes to fill this gap and meet this demand and at the same time to help the tuba player realize the potentialities of this beautiful and unusual instrument.
Selected and edited by Herbert Wekselblatt and with piano accompaniment.
