Folk Dances is a Euphonium solo written by Mike Fitzpatrick for Matthew van Emmerik for the opening concert of the 2008 International Tuba and Euphonium Convention, held in Cincinatti, Ohio, USA. A virtuosic solo, 'Folk Dances' is bases loosely on the rhythms and harmonies of four different cultures, ranging from Eastern Europe,through to the Mediterranean and even touching on the Americas.
