Bel Canto for Euphonium contains vocalises that were originally intended for the development and training of the singing voice. Almost since its 'invention' the euphonium has been regarded as perhaps the most vocal of all brass instruments. Singers as well as brass players have to work intensively on sound production and tone quality. These vocalises when studied carefully will encourage many positive aspects of performance. The demo CD featuring Steven Mead accompanied by the piano provides one interpretation of how to do them.
